Backstage Backtalk

Theater Without Borders allows students to perform and stage productions at Avonlea High School and in the community. Started in 2005 by Julia Roberts and Luc Picard, the Drama Group performs dramatic works year round.

Group participants perform one play per semester and often perform for the Avonlea community. In this way students become involved in all aspects of play production, including performance, stage management, light and sound, and script-writing.

In addition to supporting students’ academic progress in language and literature, Theater Without Borders promotes an interest in the arts, problem-solving through teamwork and community service. Exposure to drama also enhances students’ confidence in their abilities and strengthens self-knowledge.
